The new year is just around the corner, and if you haven’t thought about new social media strategies for your business, now is the time. We saw the emergence of video in social media in 2016, and expect that trend to continue through 2017 with the adoption of live-streaming. One of the most important tools to have in your toolbox is Facebook Live. Here are some tips on how to use this feature for your business:
Humanize your brand. Customers want to do business with humans, not robots. Facebook Live gives audiences a chance to see your company’s personality. They can hear your voice, see employees interact with each other and feel as if they’re in the room with you. Facebook Live is a wonderful tool to show your company’s personality. Need an example? Host a Q&A session. Have you been receiving a lot of comments, perhaps on your blog posts, through email or over the phone? Set up a Facebook Live session where you can address some of your customer’s inquiries. Others tuning in may learn from some of the answers you provide. Make sure to take questions from the live audience and interact with them when possible by asking your own questions of how they use your product. Once your Facebook Live session is over, the video will reside on your Page, so it can serve as a FAQ video for future visitors.
Host training sessions or product demonstrations. Do you have a new product on the market? Are you making an update to a program? Consider planning a demonstration on Facebook Live. For maximum attendance during the live session, advertise your upcoming demonstration during the days leading up to the event. And since the recorded video will be visible on your Facebook Page, you can continue to refer customers to it when they need help.
Testimonials. Do you have some happy customers that would talk about your product on camera? Pay them a visit and ask them a few questions about what they like most about your product! A Facebook Live testimonial feels authentic because it’s not rehearsed. It can be an exciting moment for your customer, too. Encourage them to share the Facebook Live video with their own networks, and you might garner some new interest for your product.
At the end of November, Facebook’s sister company, Instagram, announced its own live-streaming feature. If Instagram is in your company’s social media portfolio, using this new feature can help you reach more than 100 million consumers.
